PRESIDENTS REPORT

May 20th – Battle of Crete Commemoration

May 30th – RSA Day (because Queen’s Birthday W/E).

 

POPPY DAY COLLECTION

Thank you to all who helped with the collecting and providing of refreshments for the collectors on Poppy Day.

 

ANZAC DAY SERVICE DAWN PARADE

Dawn Parade was well attended by the general public.

 

10 AM CIVIC PARADE

The guest speaker was Cervantée Wild, who touched on her time in Gallipoli.

 

BATTLE OF CRETE COMMEMORATION

This will be held at the Olive tree on the Law Courts lawn at 11am followed by a light luncheon at the Tasman Club.

WHAT IS ON WITHIN THE RSA

 

RSA CLUB NIGHTS

RSA Club nights are held at the Tasman Club rooms, Octavius Place, on Friday nights in conjunction with the Tasman Club. We have raffles, the bar is open and delicious affordable meals are available. $12pp.

 

RSA DAY (formerly Vets’ Day)

This is usually held monthly, from 1.30 pm – 4 pm and is held at the Tasman Club. This is a great opportunity for fellowship.

The next RSA Day will be 30th May 2016.

Transport is available: contact the Office – 758-3538.

 

WOMEN’S SECTION – Coffee mornings

Third Wednesday of the month, (excepting August and December, when the group have a luncheon).

Coffee morning for 2016 at 10 am on 18th May at the Tasman Club. A great time for fellowship and good coffee and there will be a guest speaker.

ALL SERVICES AND KINDRED ASSN. LUNCHEON

Monday 16th May at Tasman Bowls and Social Club.

Muster at 11.30 am Lunch 12 noon.

Set Meal Set Price of $18pp – a choice of 2 mains and 2 desserts, with tea/ coffee included. Numbers are required for catering purposes so please ring Trevor Wylde on 751-5595 before 12 noon Friday 15th April.

 

SUPPORT or HOSPITAL VISITORS

If you know of someone that requires a visit, or if someone is in hospital, please contact the Office.

MEDAL MOUNTING

If you require your medals or your family member’s medals’mounted please bring them to the Office in preparation for Remembrance Day: 11th November.

Please drop them off Monday to Friday between 9am and 12 noon, then Tony and Ida Kivell work their magic on your medals and they are returned to you looking fabulous.

 

BATTLE OF CRETE COMMEORATION TRANSPORT

The Ironside vehicle will be available for pick ups on 20 th May for the Battle of Crete Commemoration service which commences at 11am, on the Law Courts lawn, by the Olive Tree. The van will be staying on at the Tasman during lunch to act as a taxi service for our members to have a ride home.

NPRSA POPPY TRUST AND SUPPORT TRUST

Funds from both Trusts are available for distribution, by the trustees to Returned and Service persons and their dependants who require financial assistance with costs relating to health issues and independent living. Application forms for assistance are available from the Office.

2. Pocket medal holders. $15.00

3. RSA membership pins (New style) $5.00

These badges can be worn by all members of the RSA.

4. Caps with RSA Logo $25 each

5. Key rings, lapel pins and brooches –

Gold $10, Silver $9 and Bronze $8

6. RNZRSA Heart Pins $10

We still have a good supply of the New Zealand Penny that were made into Brooches, Lapel Pins or Key Rings. These come in gold, silver and bronze plated.
