The OTO Melara Mondello 56 – 105mm pack Howitzer Gun
This has been returned to home territory with a complete makeover. The New Plymouth District Council is now going to make a base for it opposite the Cenotaph where it will be on public display. All thanks to our President and Ms Jo Harris of the NZ Defence Force. This refurbishment has been done at no cost to us excepting for the transportation of the gun to and from Trentham.
The cost of the refurbishment has been covered by actions of Ms Harris arranging sponsorship through different sections of the NZ Army.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
The village blacksmith finally found an apprentice willing to work hard at low pay for long hours. The blacksmith immediately began his instructions to the lad, “When I take the shoe out of the fire, I’ll lay it on the anvil; and when I nod my head, you hit it with this hammer.” The apprentice did just as he told. Now he’s the village blacksmith.
